What is the Students for Sustainable Energy for All (SSEA) student club?
• SSEA is a student club at AUB that is a chapter of the Global Energy Initiative
• Previously, SSEA implemented the “reverse printing project” for recycling paer at AUB and has participated in energy auditing and waste management projects.
What is the Light Up A Village (LUV) Project?
• LUV is a student-led initiative aiming to serve under-served villages in Lebanon by implementing renewable energy solutions.
• LUV 1.0 is the pilot project that took place in El Mejdel – Akkar, where 16 decentralized solar light poles and 10 solar kits for impoverished homes are being installed.
What are LUV’s objectives?
• Disseminate awareness about renewable energy in Lebanon.
• Make a positive social impact by improving community welfare and contributing to healthier environments.
• Encourage other students to take part in similar volunteering projects.
