The Hult Prize is an international competition that has been taking place for the past 8 years internationally. This year is the very first year Lebanon and AUB are being part of it. The Hult Prize Foundation is a start-up accelerator for budding young social entrepreneurs emerging from universities around the world. Named as one of the top five ideas changing the world by President Bill Clinton and TIME Magazine, and called “the Noble Prize for students,” the annual competition for the Hult Prize aims to create and launch the most compelling social business ideas.

The President's challenge this year is "Refugees: Reawakening Human Potential." So far, we have 55 teams competing with us; around 200+ AUB members; all trying to propose ideas that can help elevate refugee's living conditions. The competition will be held on January the 23rd, 2017.

During the first half of the day, the 64 teams will be divided into 8 rooms where they will pitch their ideas in front of judges. At around 1:30 pm the best team in each room will be announced.  Then, in the second half of the day, at around 3:00 pm, the 8 selected teams will compete again; pitching their ideas in front of a new group of judges, in order to choose the top three teams from AUB. These teams will then represent AUB in the International and Lebanese specific Hult Prize Competitions.
