AUB establishes the first Global Health Institute in Lebanon and the region
In a message to the AUB community, AUB President Fadlo Khuri announced on July 19 the establishment of AUB’s Global Health Institute (GHI), the first such institute in the region. This initiative comes in consonance with AUB’s comprehensive vision on health, Health 2025, with the vision to establish a Health Sciences Complex (HSC) that will strategically and functionally align all core units involved in health. The Center for Research on Population and Health (CRPH) in the Faculty of Health Sciences in AUB organized a conference entitled No one left behind: A feasible goal for the health SDGs in the Arab region. The conference brought together experts from the region and around the world to discuss the feasibility of reaching health-related targets of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on the Arab world.
