NFSC Department Hosts Session on Precision Nutrition

The Nutrition and Food Sciences Department led the coordination and delivery of a session on Precision Nutrition that took place on Saturday May 14, 2016 as part of this year's Middle East Medical Assembly (MEMA) theme of Precision Medicine.

Together with Dean Nahla Hwalla, Dr. Farah Naja and Dr. Bassem Safadi from AUB, two international scholars were invited to participate in this session: Dr Ahmad El Sohemy (University of Toronto) and Dr Michele Forman (University of Texas). This Nutrition session emphasized the recent advances in Precision Nutrition and presented cutting edge science in the fields of personalization of both prevention and care of chronic diseases.

The discussions within this panel were dynamic, interactive and engaged many attendees who showed interest and enthusiasm towards the topics discussed.
