Sweet times savoring the sweet corn harvest
More than 50 years after AUB faculty introduced the sweet corn crop to Lebanon, the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences is still the only supplier in Lebanon of the best sweet corn varieties currently available on the US market. Every year, during the sweet corn harvest, the FAFS Agricultural Research and Education Center (AREC) organizes Sweet Corn Day in order to share this tasty vegetable with the AUB community. Symposium says improving food safety protects health and profitability
Food safety in the Arab world should be seriously addressed not only to protect consumer rights, but also to ensure that foods and food products remain marketable in competitive export markets, said participants at a symposium held at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences on December 7.
