Clinical Research Institute (CRI) at FM, AUB
 

​​​​The Clinical Research Institute (CRI) was established in 2010 to provide the required infrastructure to support and promote innovative clinical research and collaborative activities at the Faculty of Medicine and AUBMC, thus leading to discoveries, advancement of clinical practice and improvement in patient care outcomes.

The CRI offers a wide range of services to investigators through its various units, programs and centers.

In the news
  • The National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) Honors AUB Professor Samia Khoury with the Seventh Research Excellence Award in the field of Medical, Biological, and Public Health Sciences. The award recognized Dr. Khoury as “One of the few truly translational scientists in the field of autoimmunity and multiple sclerosis". For more info click here.
  • The Clinical Research Institute has an opening for the position of AUB GRADE Center Coordinator. For more info click here.
  • The final session of our successful Faculty Advancement Program in Clinical Research (FAP) was held on Wednesday July 5, 2017. The top 3 integrated project proposal winners were handed their prizes by Dr. Samia Khoury. The winners are: - 1st prize (IPad Mini 4)- Fouad Zouein, PhD; - 2nd prize – Ahmad El-Yazbi, PhD; - 3rd prize – Jean El-Cheikh, MD .
  • A special seminar was organized by the CRI entitled: “Building Successful Regional Research Collaborations: the case of the Middle East Rheumatoid Arthritis Consortium (MERAC)" by Dr. Thurayya Arayysi. Dr. Arayysi discussed building regional research collaborations.
  • The final session of our successful Nursing Advancement Program in Clinical Research (NAP) was held on Thursday June 15, 2017. The top 3 research proposal winners were handed their prizes by Dr. Lina Badr. The winners are: - 1st prize (IPad Mini 4) - Zainab Moukalled; - 2nd prize - Hanadi Masalkhi and Ali Krayany- 3rd prize - Samar Okaily.
  • A well-attended SPSS III workshop was held on May 27, 2017. Click here for brief. 
  • A successful "Basics of Quantitative" workshop was held by the CRI at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Amman, Jordan. The workshop was facilitated by our very own faculty and staff. For a workshop brief click here.
  • A re-run of our favorite Statistics Made Easy I and II​ workshops were organized by the CRI on April 08, 2017 (click here ​for brief) and May 06, 2017 (click here ​for brief). 
  • Dr. Elie Akl, the CRI Director, has been featured as one of the 100 influential Lebanese figures around the globe. The book also features AUB President, Dr. Fadlo Khuri. For more info click here. ​ 
  • The CRI has recently launched its Nursing Advancement Program in Clinical Research (NAP) in collaboration with the Nursing Department at AUBMC. The program is directed by Dr. Lina Badr and covers a wide range of topics of relevance to clinical research.​
  • Two programs have joined the umbrella of the CRI as of February 2017, the Fellowship and Residency Research Program (FRRP) and the Medical​ Research ​Volunteer Program (MRVP). 
  • The last workshop of our Statistics Made Easy series took place on Jan 14, 2017. The workshop was very well received by participants. For workshop brief click here​.
  • A well orchestrated workshop on Qualitative Research was conducted over a period of 3 days Dec 14, 21, 28, 2016 in coordination with the Faculty of Health Sciences. For workshop brief click here​. 
  • A successful Statistics Made Easy II​ workshop was organized by the CRI on Dec 10, 2016. For workshop brief click here​. 
  • The Faculty Advancement Program in Clinical Research (FAP) has been re-launched for the second year in a ro​w. The program is directed by Dr. Mona Nabulsi and covers a wide range of topics of relevance to clinical research.​​
  • Dr. Elie Akl, director of the CRI, has been recently named a 2016 Highly Cited Researcher by Thomson Reuters. Congratulations Dr. Akl on your contributions to the advancement of scientific discovery and innovation.

  • Are you looking for an opportunity to discuss your research idea? Are you interested in input to maximize chances of acceptance of a grant proposal you are working on?  The Clinical Research Institute (CRI) at AUBMC is starting a Research Roundtable to assist faculty members in exploring their research ideas, developing study plans, or shaping up their grant proposals.
