Student Academic Journal 2009-2010MEPS is a student-led academic journal published at the American University of Beirut (AUB) through the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI).
In the academic year 2008-2009, the 1st volume of the student journal was published on the IFI Website, and it included the work of AUB students- both undergraduate and graduate. The publication was followed by a conference which was held in May, giving the published students an opportunity to discuss their work and receive feedback on it.
Benefits for the Students:- The opportunity to work closer with their professors to produce a piece of work.- Great asset to any application, especially one for graduate school and further studies.- Inexpensive and less stringent than other journals tailored for professional academics.- Chance to partake in a student research conference where constructive feedback would be provided.
The theme of this year's journal is Youth*. Any work that is related to youth or has any relevance to a field that might have implications concerning youth is of interest. Nonetheless, other papers that pertain directly to public policy issues or international affairs will be considered for publication. Papers with potential policy implications are welcome. Therefore, any non-fiction academic papers, even those pertaining to culture, health and society can also be considered. The papers can be relevant original works or papers written for a class assignment and should be in English.
We are now open for submissions for the 2nd volume of the journal, and we encourage you to submit your work online by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
