  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Fuad "Ford" Tamer

A trustee since 2022 and an AUB graduate (BEN), Fuad Tamer is currently a Senior Operating partner at Francisco Partners. He has pioneered business development across industries including semiconductors, networking, and enterprise software. Dr. Tamer was the former President and CEO of Inphi for more than 9 years, until its merger with Marvell. Under his stewardship, Inphi became the market leader for electro-optics solutions for cloud and telecom operators, with a special focus on artificial intelligence infrastructure. Prior to Inphi, he served as CEO of Telegent Systems, SVP/GM of Broadcom Networking Group, and co-founder and CEO of Agere Inc., a trailblazer in Network Processors (acquired by Lucent, and IPO as Agere Systems). Dr. Tamer serves on the boards of directors for Teradyne, Marvell Technology and Groq. He is a graduate of MIT (MS, PhD).
