  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Jacques P. Merab, MD

A trustee since 2012, Jacques P. Merab is clinical associate professor of medicine at New York University’s Grossman School of Medicine. He served his internship and residency in internal medicine, and completed a fellowship in cardiology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (BS ’76) and Harvard University (MD ’80).
