  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

The Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate Program (TLG) is a Masters' scholarship and leadership development training program funded by the U.S. Department of State’s U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).

The objective of MEPI-TLG is to support academically qualified and economically deserving students in the MENA region by providing graduate study and organized research that advances knowledge, furthers the professionalization of emerging leaders, and contributes to the implementation of socially relevant initiatives.

AUB has received three US federal assistance awards under MEPI-TLG (PGRM, LiDS and SDGs) through which scholarships are being awarded to students who are committed to work on research projects associated to eligible graduate programs of study.
