History
The Policies and Procedures Office was re-established at the beginning of 1999 under the auspices of the Office of the Vice President for Administration. The creation of the Office is the outcome of a project initiated by Internal Audit in 1997 to convert all policy and procedure manuals to electronic format. The Policies and Procedures Office is responsible for ensuring adherence to a standard format in the development and documentation of policy and ensuring consistency between departments. Comprehensive documented Policies and Procedures are central to effective administration. They set out the framework within which the University and its Medical Center function. They reflect how our clients, be they students, patients, faculty, staff, alumni, or the public at large, will be served by the Institution. A consistent high quality of client service is one of the primary aims of the Institution. Consequently, documenting how those services are provided is of paramount importance. Policies must be transparent so that clients may know what to expect, and procedures must be clear and simple such that they can be, and are, followed.
