Student Wellness Outreach
As an advocate for
Mental Health Matters and as the new officer of the Student Wellness Outreach,
I like to invite you to a new experience as we journey through this semester
and academic year. If you were not familiar with the Student
Wellness Outreach Office in the past I am determined to reach out to you and
build connections in the coming months because it has become more critical than
ever to nurture students’ wellbeing. My focus this year will be on Mental
Health and Resilience, keeping stress in check, life management tactics such as
health eating on a student budget, study skills, learning self-defense and
first-aid basics. I also would like to provide support that allows for
awareness on traditionally taboo topics that promote inclusion and empower you
with knowledge free from unwanted judgement.
As the wellness
outreach officer this year, and as a former student at the American University
of Beirut, I’ll strive to provide you with a safe space where you will be able
to take a breath of fresh air away from online classes and the sense of
isolation caused by COVID-19
That is why the
Office of Student Affairs and the Student Wellness Outreach Office have decided
to do things differently this year. Instead of implementing our event ideas, we
will be collecting, developing, and prioritizing your ideas and turn them into
action.
Because we want you
to decide, we appreciate taking a few minutes to complete this survey, which
will help us offer you an exceptional experience this semester. Your answers
will remain anonymous and will only be used to address your concerns. The
survey suggests topics you can choose among so that we develop ideas and turn
them into workshops throughout the semester.
