The university application process can be significantly easier if you start preparing in Grade 10.

This checklist provides general recommendations for each year.



GRADE 10 CHECKLIST

  • Explore AUB's academic majors. Select the right one by aligning your passion with your skills.
  • Organize your time to begin SAT preparation, and plan to take your SAT tests starting the summer after Grade 10.
  • Attend the AUB Open House in spring, meet faculty members and explore the various majors.
  • Benefit from AUB visits to your school.
  • Check the criteria for early merit admission to AUB to benefit from a 30% scholarship:
    1. if your class rank is in the top 25% in both Grade 10 and Grade 11
    2. if your SAT superscore meets SAT criteria for sophomore early/ merit admission or freshman early/ merit admission
  • If you are enrolled in IB (International Baccalaureate), FB (French Baccalaureate), or GCE (General Certificate of Education), refer to the following table to prevent the need for remedial courses in certain majors at AUB. ​



GRADE 11 CHECKLIST​

  • Meet with your counselor to discuss your application, SAT timeline, and preparations.
  • Narrow down your options for AUB academic majors. Chose the best fit by aligning your passion with your skills.
  • Take the SAT test multiple times as AUB accepts the superscore.
  • Attend the AUB Open House in the spring and explore the majors you are interested in.
  • Prepare your questions for AUB visits to your school.
  • Check the criteria for early merit admission to AUB to benefit from a 30% scholarship:
    1. if your class rank is in the top 25% in both Grade 10 and Grade 11
    2. if your SAT superscore meets the SAT criteria for sophomore early/ merit admission or freshman early/ merit admission
  • If your SAT superscore is above 1500, you will receive an additional 10% scholarship.
  • If you are enrolled in IB (International Baccalaureate), FB (French Baccalaureate), or GCE (General Certificate of Education), refer to the following table to prevent the need for remedial courses in certain majors at AUB.
  • If you are following the American program, you can check the AP courses that are equivalent to freshman credits in the table (Freshman Credits Equivalent to AP) at the bottom of this link. ​


GRADE 12 CHECKLIST​

  • Submit your early / merit admission application, starting early September to benefit from a 30% scholarship:
    1. if your class rank is in the top 25% in both Grade 10 and Grade 11
    2. if your SAT superscore meets the SAT criteria for sophomore early/ merit admission or freshman early merit admission
  • Alternatively, opt to apply for regular admission, starting early September.
  • If your SAT score is not satisfactory, verify if you have the opportunity to take the test one more time before your deadline, as AUB accepts the superscore.
  • Choose up to 6 majors, with a maximum of 2 per faculty.
  • Reach out to Admissions, or book an appointment​ with an AUB advisor​.​
