FAFS is proud to announce that Dean Nahla Hwalla was appointed as the Chair of Advisory Board of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM). Dr. Hwalla was unanimously elected by the Governing Board Members of CIHEAM on July 4, 2017.
The International Centre of Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies is a Mediterranean intergovernmental organization founded in 1962 and devoted to the sustainable development of agriculture, fisheries, food, nutrition security as well as rural and coastal areas. It is composed of 13 member States (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey) and operates through 4 Institutes based in Italy, Greece, France and Spain. CIHEAM strives to meet the following 4 challenges: combating all forms of waste, boosting sustainable agriculture and food, investing in new generations and marginal territories, and preventing risks and managing tensions.
