  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. WEFRAH | Water Energy Food Health Nexus, Renewable Resources Initiative

WEFRAH is a University wide initiative led by FAFS. WEFRAH’s focus is collaboration to achieve primary resources security. The initiative is in response to the President’s vision of engagement and impact to strengthen collaborations between AUB Faculties and Schools, particularly to promote interdisciplinary collaboration by nurturing a bottom-up, participatory approach within AUB and between AUB and its external stakeholders. WEFRAH opens venues for collaboration with other universities within Lebanon and its outcome and action oriented approach links naturally and organically to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 by presenting a contextualized, relevant approach to their achievement in the MENA region.

Call for participation open in special journal issue about WEFRAH Research:

We are pleased to announce a call for participation in the special journal issue dedicated to WEFRAH research. The issue will be cross listed in four journals and jointly edited by AUB, Texas A&M, and the University of Thessaly.

All are highly encouraged to register their interest and submit manuscripts via the SI homepage.
