Communications Team

The Communications Team at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences plays a crucial role in supporting faculty members by managing internal and external communication channels. Their tasks include promoting faculty and student achievements and research through press releases, social media, and newsletters; collaborating with the Events team during events and public lectures; and maintaining FAS online presence through website management and digital content creation. We also assist faculty members in crafting and disseminating visuals pertaining to events or activities to broader audiences, and ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with the FAS strategic goals. By facilitating effective communication, the team enhances the visibility and impact of the various contributions and developments by FAS community members.

Below are the Procedures for Organizing AUB Events as set by the Office of the Dean at The Faculty of Arts and Sciences in collaboration with the Office of Events, Office of Communication, and Office of Compliance.

  1. All events, competitions or other initiatives under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences must be approved by the unit's chair or director at a first stage, and then by the Office of the Dean before the event is launched.
  2. A request must be submitted to the unit head including all relevant information such as the purpose of the event, the dates, the venue, the number of participants, the availability of funds and the partners or co-organizers (if any). Once the event is approved by the unit head, the request will be transferred to the Office of the Dean for final approval.
  3. The venue must be booked through Infosilem. Please ensure that there are no overlaps with other FAS events by visiting the FAS web Calendar
  4. All external parties involved, including partners, co-organizers, sponsors, speakers and participants must be vetted before the event takes place in accordance with the policy on Compliance with US Sanctions Programs. For more information on the vetting process, please contact the Office of Compliance at compliance@aub.edu.lb, Ext. 2528.
  5. Form must be submitted including all relevant information to the FAS Communications Officer, Arminé Seferian at as289@aub.edu.lb, Ext. 3822 who will coordinate directly with you and provide you with full support in visual creation, print and digital material, and assistance in organizing the event, ensuring compliance with relevant AUB policies and procedures.
  6. This process should be completed at the earliest possible, depending on the scale of the event and the production, however not later than two weeks prior to the event.
