Financial OperationsThe Financial Operations Manager supervises the financial aspects of faculty activities, including budgeting, managing fund allocations, overseeing expense reimbursements, and preparing financial reports.

Faculty AffairsThe Faculty Affairs unit plays a key role in managing various aspects of academic personnel administration. This involves overseeing the implementation and interpretation of policies and procedures, supporting faculty recruitment and hiring, coordinating reappointment, promotion and tenure, and post-tenure processes. Student Services Office The Student Services Office handles all academic issues related to students and ensures their academic journey is smooth and successful. Our office oversees a wide range of student-related activities, including FAS awards, Graduate and Undergraduate Open House, and Commencement exercises.
The team is composed of 6 members:

Yara El-Hoss, Student Services Administrative Officer, Ext. 3810
Receives students and directs them to the proper person. Handles Dean's honor lists, SSO webpages, petitions for minors, advisors' assignments. Assists in FAS awards.

Ghida Itani, Graduate Studies and Career Services Officer, Ext. 3870
Handles all issues related to master's and PhD students from admission until graduation. Works with the Graduate Studies Committee. Handles the career portal and provides one-on-one guidance on CV writing and interview skills.

Dina Khattab, Academic Affairs Officer, Ext. 3809
Handles orientation, degree requirements, graduation list, curricular changes, new programs, course equivalences, and study abroad petitions. Oversees the updating of the FAS section of the undergraduate catalogue. Works with the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee.

Stephanie Mesrobian, Undergraduate Student Officer, Ext. 3804
Works with the Undergraduate Student Academic Affairs Committee (USAAC) on academic issues like late add/drop, withdrawal, underload/overload, incomplete requests, change of grade, excessive absences, probation and dismissal. Also works with the Undergraduate Admissions Committee (UAC) that handles junior transfer, interfaculty transfers, change of major, dual degree, double major, second degree, and reactivation petitions.

Razan Sabbidine, Student Records Administrative Officer, Ext.3833
Works on course scheduling, teaching load, and ICE scores; compiles the final exams output; handles room reservations requests. Assists departments in matters related to extracting data from Argos, course offerings, and teaching loads.

Zeina Halabieh, Director of Student Services and FAS Space Management, Ext. 3814
Leads the student services office and manages FAS space.
Information Technology (IT) Support The IT unit collaborates closely with faculty members to drive innovation and transformation in teaching and research. The FAS IT Manager offers consultation on leveraging technology for educational and research purposes. This service includes guidance on purchasing IT hardware and software using AUB funds, such as grants and start-up funds. Faculty members can refer to the "Getting Started/ AUB Faculty and Staff" section on the
IT website for guidance on creating and managing AUB accounts, wireless configuration, accessing AUBSIS (Student Information System), accessing Moodle (Learning Management System), and a comprehensive list of all available IT services.
Our IT Support team is available to help you with any IT services, hardware, or software issues you encounter in your office, classrooms, or labs. We provide
multiple channels through which you can request assistance.

Communications TeamThe Communications Team at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences plays a crucial role in supporting faculty members by managing internal and external communication channels. Their tasks include promoting faculty and student achievements and research through press releases, social media, and newsletters; collaborating with the Events team during events and public lectures; and maintaining FAS online presence through website management and digital content creation. We also assist faculty members in crafting and disseminating visuals pertaining to events or activities to broader audiences, and ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with the FAS strategic goals. By facilitating effective communication, the team enhances the visibility and impact of the various contributions and developments by FAS community members.
Below are the Procedures for Organizing AUB Events as set by the Office of the Dean at The Faculty of Arts and Sciences in collaboration with the Office of Events, Office of Communication, and Office of Compliance.
- All events, competitions or other initiatives under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences must be approved by the unit's chair or director at a first stage, and then by the Office of the Dean before the event is launched.
- A request must be submitted to the unit head including all relevant information such as the purpose of the event, the dates, the venue, the number of participants, the availability of funds and the partners or co-organizers (if any). Once the event is approved by the unit head, the request will be transferred to the Office of the Dean for final approval.
- The venue must be booked through Infosilem. Please ensure that there are no overlaps with other FAS events by visiting the FAS web Calendar.
- All external parties involved, including partners, co-organizers, sponsors, speakers and participants must be vetted before the event takes place in accordance with the policy on Compliance with US Sanctions Programs. For more information on the vetting process, please contact the Office of Compliance at compliance@aub.edu.lb, Ext. 2528.
- A Form must be submitted including all relevant information to the FAS Communications Officer,
Arminé Seferian at as289@aub.edu.lb, Ext. 3822 who will coordinate directly with you and provide you with full support in visual creation, print and digital material, and assistance in organizing the event, ensuring compliance with relevant AUB policies and procedures.
- This process should be completed at the earliest possible, depending on the scale of the event and the production, however not later than two weeks prior to the event.
