FAS graduate students from the Department of History and Archaeology are invited to submit applications for funding through the “Khaled and Rayya Daouk Fund" in support of research activities and or scholarly publications on the history of Lebanon in the 19th century. Particularly, research on issues related to Beirut and other costal cities of Lebanon in the 19th century focusing on the economic and commercial history of those cities.
Eligibility: Masters and PhD students from the Department of History and Archaeology. Applicants majoring in Economics, Anthropology, or Sociology may apply if their research is relevant to the current call.
Budget: Up to $5,000
Application materials: Apply online. Please upload in a single PDF file: 1. Proposal including abstract (no more than 200 words), description of the proposed activity and the expected outcomes (no more than 1000 words), budget and budget narrative (indicating the anticipated use of the requested funds and all funds sought or secured from other sources), and timeline; and 2. A letter of recommendation from the chair of department and thesis/academic advisor; and 3. Official correspondence from external institutions, if applicable
