PhD Student Amani Audi Wins Prestigious L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowship
Amani Audi, a PhD student in the Cell and Molecular Biology program at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Levant Young Talents Fellowship.
The program, under the theme "The world needs science, and science needs women," recognizes six outstanding young researchers from the Levant region. These scientists, selected from a pool of 100 candidates, represent diverse fields and exemplify the crucial role of women in advancing science.
Audi was honored for her research on the immune defense mechanisms of the African malaria mosquito (Anopheles gambiae), aiming to identify novel malaria-resistant genes. Her work contributes to global efforts in combating malaria and highlights the power of women-led scientific innovation.
