Sarah Schell is Lecturer in Art History at American University of Beirut. She earned her PhD in Art History at the University of St Andrews (Scotland) and has held research and teaching positions in Canada, the UAE, Lebanon, and the United States. She is the author of Image and the Office of the Dead in Late Medieval Europe (Amsterdam University Press, 2023). Her areas of research interest include Western manuscripts and book history, medieval art and culture, devotional practices, reading cultures, and death.
