Our region faces unprecedented challenges. Years of conflict and the recent escalation of violence in Lebanon have created immense suffering. The Faculty of Health Sciences remains committed to alleviating this pain and providing critical services to those in need.

  QUANTIFYING ATTACKS ON HEALTHCARE FACILITIES
  
  Dr. Danielle Poole presented her research that leverages commercially and publicly available satellite imagery and geolocated health facility data to conduct pre-post quasi-experimental studies of attacks on healthcare. Such evidence provides new possibilities for public health protection and human rights accountability.

  HEALTH AND HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE IN LEBANON
  
  FHS along with the Center for Humanitarian Leadership, the Hopkins Center for Humanitarian Health, and the Geneva Centre for Humanitarian Studies, hosted a webinar about the immediate and long-term needs in Lebanon, with a focus on mobilizing resources, identifying care gaps, and developing responses to affected communities.

3LC TALK SERIES

The 3LC Healhty Longevity Talk Series is a knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiative within the Late Life Learning, Cognition, and Aging Study (3LC). Developed amidst Lebanon's current crisis, the series aims to provide a platform to learn, connect, and share, building a supportive environment in times of crisis while advancing knowledge in aging, cognition, Late Life learning (LLL), and related research areas. The AUB-JHSPH Collaboration Centers

On supporting displaced populations and advancing public health through two main initiatives:
a.Short-term project: Teams of students from AUB and JHSPH will collaborate on designing a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan for community health workers (CHWs) assisting displaced populations. The students will work on data collection tools and methods to assess the CHWs' performance and effectiveness, focusing on public health indicators for quick response.

b.Long-term vision: FHS plans to establish an emergency hub to serve as a regional resource. JHSPH's expertise will guide the creation of this hub, helping FHS define its vision, mission, and sustainability, while enhancing visibility and networking opportunities.(COMING SOON)
