Lebanon was able to contain the first COVID19 wave by adopting an aggressive containment approach. The second wave is more challenging, with more devastating impacts.
With record numbers of positive cases registered per day since the re-opening of the airport and easing the lockdown, it seems that the country has entered a new phase in countering the virus. As per many experts and researchers, it is inevitable to reintroduce short-term lockdown measures to avoid more severe implications.
The Knowledge to Policy (K2P) center issued a new Rapid Response document revealing the new challenges facing the Lebanese government and decision makers, as well as key messages and recommendations on how to face this new phase.
