It is my great pleasure to welcome you again to the Annual Beirut Breast Cancer Conference, now in its 12th Edition BBCC12 that has an up-to-date multidisciplinary program for the management of patients with breast cancer. BBCC-12 also includes oncology pharmacy, nursing and NGO and advocacy workshops. We also have special poster and oral presentations with awards for Junior Researchers for Best Abstracts and Best Posters.
We have a superb panel of World-renowned ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology), ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology), AMAAC (Arab Medical Association Against Cancer) and LSMO (Lebanese Society of Medical Oncology) speakers and experts to present CME didactic lectures, tumor boards and round table discussions presenting updates from major oncology meetings, including San Antonio, ESMO, ASCO, St. Gallen, ABC and published literature. Non-CME satellite symposia are also featured.
We are proud that BBCC has become an annual tradition in Lebanon and the region and attracts an increasing number of participants, senior and junior physicians interested in the care of patients with breast cancer. Beirut Breast Cancer Conference is featured at ASCO Connection and (
https://www.asco.org), AUBMC website (
http://www.aubmc.org.lb/) and newspapers and magazines. In addition to our appearance on www.aub.edu.lb, We are also proud to have a new
www.beirutbcc.org website, @myBBCC, and #beirutbcc online features.
In recognition of the efforts, dedication and sacrifices of our colleague physicians, nurses and staff in our Emergency Rooms and Departments, without whom neither society nor us would have been able to continue our daily living, caring and educating during the present Covid-19 pandemic, we decided that proceeds of BBCC-10 Registration will go to them at Emergency Departments at AUBMC and St. Georges University Hospital in Beirut. We are very thankful for our sponsors who allowed us to waive Registration Fees in view of the present severe economic crisis in Lebanon.
On behalf of BBCC-12 Scientific Committee, Division of Hematology Oncology of the Department of Internal Medicine, and the Breast Center of Excellence at the Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute, the Clinical and Professional Development Center and the CME Office at American University of Beirut Medical Center, and all our collaborators, partners, and sponsors, I hope you have a great meeting and enjoyable “virtual” visit to Beirut and Lebanon.
