
We would like to welcome our new faculty members Dr. Karim Zahed and Dr. Hisham Abou Ibrahim.
Karim Zahed graduated in 2022 with a Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University. His research area is Human Factors Engineering with a focus on Cognitive Ergonomics. His work spans the areas of behavior change, user-centered design, and digital health. Prior to his Ph.D., he obtained his master's in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2017 and a bachelor's in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 2013. Apart from that Dr. Karim enjoys mentoring undergraduate and graduate students on research and their career plans.
Hisham Abou Ibrahim received his Ph.D. in Construction Management from AUB in 2019 and has done his postdoctoral studies at Aalto University, Finland. His research aims to enhance the performance of construction operations in design and execution phases through better planning, monitoring and control. Currently, he is focusing on developing digital twins for construction processes to improve situational awareness, visualize process dynamics, and predict future performance while advising managers on making informed decisions. In addition to his academic experience, Hisham has provided many consulting services for projects in Lebanon and aboard.
