The Initiative
WiDS at AUB is an independent event organized by the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business to be part of the WiDS Worldwide mission to increase the participation of women in data science and to feature outstanding women doing outstanding work. Everyone is invited to attend. WiDS AUB is the largest regional event, bringing in Arab and international female leaders in Data Science to Beirut. The general theme for WiDS @AUB 2025 is "Sustainable Rebuilding in Times of Crisis ", with high profile female speakers sharing the best practices and latest advances in the field of data science in a variety of domains. Registration is free of charge.

The Women in Data Science at the American University of Beirut Initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists, regardless of gender, and support Arab women in the field. This one-day technical conference provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science research in different fields, learn how leading-edge companies are leveraging data science for success, and connect with potential mentors, collaborators, and others in the field. The event is directed towards business professionals, researchers, students.

WiDS AUB creates a platform for data scientists in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to:
