Fida Afiouni is Professor of HRM at the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business at the American University of Beirut (AUB), an Associate Provost at AUB, and a founding member of the Center for Inclusive Business and Leadership (CIBL) at AUB. She is currently working on developing and implementing gender equality plans in higher education institutions and serves on the steering committee of the diversity, equity, and inclusion office at AUB, in addition of being a Title IX deputy and a trained investigator in sexual harassment and discrimination. She is also leading the work on the KIP index and the Lived Experience index at the Support and Accelerate Women’s Inclusion (SAWI) project, under to assess the implications of Covid-19 on women’s lived experiences and on employers’ responses to the crisis, while adopting a feminist lens to facilitate the identification of gendered power dynamics during the analysis. Her publications, at the intersection of HRM, careers, and gender, have won multiple awards and appeared in leading journals in her field, the most recent being in Gender, Work, and Organization, the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Human Resource Management Journal, Business Research Quarterly, Career Development International, and the International Journal of Human Resource Management. Fida currently serves as HRM section co-editor in the journal of Business Ethics, and as Associate Editor in the International Journal of Human Resource Management. She is also an editorial member in Career Development International and Human Resource Management Journal. In addition to her academic role, Fida also serves on the board of directors of the Lebanese League for Women in Business.
