  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

Saleh Rifai

An award winning Visual Artist and Professor of photography. Have been teaching photography at Lebanese University since 1985. Have a Masters of Visual Arts-specialization: Photography, Kaslik University (USEK). Photojournalist and photo editor wih the Associated Press (1980-2005). Founder and editor-in-chief of “The Art of Photography”, the first Arab magazine dedicated to teaching photography-. Organized two solo exhibitions and participated in more than 40 group exhibitions.

يصور هذا العمل برمزيته شكل انسان منتصبا في الطبيعة فاتحا يديه يتلو صلاته شاكرا على نعمة الحياة وانزيم العمر. فلطالما كان الماء عنصرًا مقدسًا في الفنون والأساطير وما يزال حتى عصرنا هذا.
